FAQ

Where can we do my session?

The location is up to you! Any location in San Luis Obispo County is included with your shoot. Further travel is available based on availability, location, and travel expense reimbursement. I have a ton of great locations to recommend based on client personalities and interest or you can come up with your own! The choice is yours!

Can I extend the session on the day of?

Since most of our sessions are bound by light, extending sessions is generally not possible. For daytime events, you may extend your planned session based upon availability.

What kind of gear do you use?

I shoot with a Canon EOS R6 full-frame mirrorless camera and typically shoot portraits with my EF 50 mm portrait lens, or my 16-35 mm for larger group photos.

Do I have to order prints through you?

No! I do work with an excellent photo lab which does a wonderful job of printing your photos in the way I would want them printed, but you are welcome to use any lab that you like! The images are yours to do with what you wish. Please be aware though that some labs print darker or lighter than others. My monitor is calibrated for Miller Professional Labs, so printing with any other lab may or may not alter the colors in your photos. I personally love Costco for the price, but always lighten photos before printing at Costco as they tend to print dark.

I'm a girl. How many outfits should I bring?

It depends. I typically recommend 3 outfits. For ladies, I typically recommend:
1) A dress (long dresses make for the best movement and twirls!)
2) A cute jeans/pants outfit
3) Third outfit related to sports/FFA/other activities you are passionate about.

Feel free to add or skip any of the above. You can add extra variety and interest by including accessories. A hat, long necklace, scarf, cut flowers, or other things you can hold can give us some fun things to play with!

I'm a boy. How many outfits should I bring?

For gentlemen, I still typically recommend 3 outfits, even if that just means 3 shirt changes. If you are a jeans guy and want to stick with jeans, that's fine. I do recommend that you choose at least one classic button-down shirt in a neutral color and avoid any shirts with graphics or other elements that will look quickly dated (unless you want people to know how old you are based on your senior portrait!). Hats are also a great addition, but I WILL take photos without the hat.

What else should I bring to my session?

Anything you want/are passionate about.
-Are you an athlete? Bring your lettermen's jacket or an item related to your sport (shoes, ball, etc).
-Do you have a cool car? Get it detailed and let's use it as a prop!
-Do you have a class ring? Bring it!
-FFA jacket? Lets use it!
